Here’s what you need to do: Press Windows key + R to open up a Run dialog box. Then, type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter to open up Device Manager. If you’re prompted by the UAC (User Account Control), click Yes at the prompt to grant admin privileges.
My PC was running fine before the weekend. Put it to sleep, came back on Sunday night and now the Windows Disconnect sound plays every 5 seconds. I have isolated it to the Generic USB Hub using USBDelist which shows last connection times and this devices last connection time updates on each sound. I have tried:
Check the USB ports. Try plugging the USB device into another port. Turn off the docking station. Disconnect the USB-C cable and then remove the power adapter from the dock. Turn on the docking station by connecting the power adapter to the docking station before connecting the USB-C cable to your laptop.
To keep it brief, I have a lot Razer gear (keyboard, mouse, headset, mousepad, & headset stand w/USB hub), and randomly they will all simultaneously stop working for a second or two, then kick back on. When this happens, my webcam also powers off, though I don't know about any other devices.
